At Palvin Organics, our day starts long before the sun rises. The moment the first light touches our fields in Jamnagar, Gujarat, our herd of Gir cows is already stirring. For us, caring for these gentle animals isn’t just part of the process — it is the process.
Why Gir Cows Matter
Gir cows are a heritage Indian breed, known for their resilience, gentle temperament, and high-quality milk. Their milk contains A2 protein, which is easier to digest and more natural for many people. By working with Gir cows, we align with tradition, purity and sustainable dairy farming.
Dawn on the Farm
At around 5:30 AM, our team gathers near the open barn. Before the cows are brought out, we walk the perimeter to check that the grounds are clean, bedding is fresh, and the water troughs are full. Cleanliness and care set the tone for the day.
The herd is then guided out to pasture. We avoid loud noises and rushing – the cows move calmly, grazing on fresh green fodder and herbs. This grazing time is essential: it ensures the animals are relaxed and well-nourished, which in turn affects the quality of the milk and ghee we produce.
Milk-Time & The Start of Production
By 7:30 AM, our milking area is ready. We follow a traditional, hands-on approach. One of our senior staff members gently checks the herd for any signs of discomfort or illness. When all is well, milking begins. The process is slow, careful, and respectful. We believe milk produced from a calm cow is superior in quality and taste.
